Building a Love of Reading

The mission of St. John’s Lutheran School Library Media Center is to support literacy, develop and sustain the love of reading, and to foster life-long learning.

The library is open every
school day from 7:30am-3:30pm

Children Read Book Private School in Orange, CA

The library program at St. John’s actively reaches out to the student population and seeks to provide services relevant to current learning. Students are encouraged to read for pleasure and to utilize the library resources in conjunction with their classroom learning. World Book Online Databases are available for research, the Accelerated Reading Program is utilized in grades K-5, and both hardcover and ebooks are available for student use. Classes have regularly scheduled visits, and students have the opportunity to visit the library individually. Students in grades K-5 participate in the California Young Reader Medal Award Program, reading eligible books and participating in the voting process for the award. In addition, an extracurricular program, Battle of the Books, is available for students who are interested.
