Physical Education

Physical Education

Physical fitness is an important component to the school day at St. John's in kindergarten through 8th grade. The inclusion of regular physical activity helps students maintain fitness, develop muscular strength, and improve cardiovascular health. St. John's facilities include both indoor and outdoor areas for teaching, including Senne Field, Walker Hall Gymnasium, and outdoor courts on our playground.

Our PE teacher, Mrs. Miller, has created a program for students K-5 that encourages them to reach their personal best, tests knowledge of game rules and basic physiology, and overall lets them have FUN while being active! Middle school students have their own program - led by Mr. Harrison - learning through the introduction of various sports and physical activities.

Students also participate in local sporting competitions which include track and field competitions at Crean Lutheran High School, and Kids Run the OC (KROC) Marathon at the Orange County Fairgrounds in order to support the importance of teamwork and good health.
