Tide Pool Adventure

The 5^th graders put on their Marine Biologist hats and journeyed to the tide pools at Little Corona Beach. Before visiting the tide pools, the students spent time studying what tide pools are, how the change in tide exposes the pools, and the animals that inhabit them.

This year the students found and identified many animals, including animals we have never seen on past trips. We found Sea Urchins, a Sea Star, Black and Brown Sea Hares, a Hopkins Rose Nudibranch, a Brittle Star, and a Seal. After visiting the tide pools, the students used the information they learned from their research and time exploring the tide pools to create their very own animal that they feel is perfectly adapted to live in the harsh conditions of the tide pools.
