Their potential to nurture a positive school ethos that stresses learning, care for the self and others, and the pursuit of all forms of excellence should not be underestimated. School assemblies, in all phases of schooling, can make a positive contribution to student self-development and therefore be at the heart of raising achievement and standards. Not to mention that they’re really fun!

Staff Luncheons

We are blessed with wonderful teachers and staff who graciously share their time and talents with our children daily. On the first day of school and the end of 1st-3rd quarter half days, we invite our teachers and staff to lunch in the dining room. It’s a great opportunity to serve them and encourage them to enjoy some downtime and fellowship with one another.

Aspire Week

St. John's Lutheran School begins the school year with one of our favorite traditions—ASPIRE Week! This special week is dedicated to building Christ-centered character as students explore our core ASPIRE values: Accountability, Safety, Patience, Integrity, Respect, and Empathy. Through daily devotions, prayer, interactive activities, and school-wide celebrations, students discover what it means to aspire to be more like Jesus in their words, actions, and relationships.

Spring Events

National Lutheran Schools Week

Every spring, National Lutheran Schools Week provides our network of nearly 2,300 LCMS preschools, elementary schools and high schools with the public opportunity to proclaim and celebrate God’s work among us in Lutheran schools. We thank God for the opportunity to provide excellent academic preparation for the children we serve. We are most grateful for the opportunity to share Jesus’ amazing love with children and their families. National Lutheran Schools Week gives us an opportunity to proclaim these great blessings within the communities we serve. Our schools are amazing incubators for faithful witness of God’s love for us through Christ by teachers and students alike.

Breakfast with the Principal

Join our Principal, Dr. Jake Hollatz, every spring for a wonderful morning of food, fellowship and great conversation in the Walker Hall Dining Room. Topics will include relevant information about St. John’s Lutheran School.

Kindness Week

Inspired by Ephesians 4:32, Kindness Week provides meaningful opportunities for students to practice encouragement, forgiveness, gratitude, and service while strengthening the relationships that make our Mustang community so special. As students learn to notice the needs of those around them, choose compassion over criticism, and extend grace to others, they help create a school where every person feels seen, valued, and loved. Our hope is that the lessons learned during Kindness Week inspire students to make kindness a part of who they are—carrying these values into their everyday interactions, relationships, and experiences as they continue to grow and mature.

Families are invited to enjoy cultural performances, authentic food, and celebrate all that our students have discovered.

St. John’s opens its classroom doors in an awesome art show/open house for the students to show off all that they have been learning and doing in school.
