Science Camp Success

This past week, the 6^th graders attended their annual Science Camp at Palomar Christian Conference Center after a year hiatus. With collaboration, communication and commitment, students persevered through activities and classes applying what they have learned inside the classroom to the outdoors in a Christ-centered environment.  Students participated in hikes, taking them through the Palomar mountains; they witnessed the beauty of falling leaves, and learned a new level of independence.  They hiked under the stars, played crab-crawl soccer, practiced their aim at archery, felt the rush of zip-lining and played paintball.  The hands-on approach of the camp allowed students the opportunity to be active learners and there was very little “down time”. 

New friendships were formed as students were grouped with others from the three 6^th grade homerooms in their teams, dorm rooms and dining hall.  Throughout the week, students earned points for various activities such as answering questions during classes, showing empathy towards others and serving.  The winning team will be wearing their championship t-shirts to school on Monday, November 8^th!  God blessed us with beautiful weather, a caring staff and fun memories!  Visit PCCC’s website to learn more about other camps offered throughout the year.
