Math Wizards!

Second grade is working hard at math fact fluency and two-digit by two-digit addition and subtraction. To engage the students and work on taking on positive challenges together, the students had to use fact fluency to work to “capture the square.” They also played a game with their partner that required each player to spin two numbers, subtract, and fill in the number square with hopes of getting 5 in a row. Game-based learning has been proven to improve young learners' creativity, and problem-solving skills and practice critical thinking. Plus, the kids love it too!
