Hands-on Science!

In 6th grade students are learning about ocean currents and how they affect our weather . As a culminating activity, they went into the STEM lab to learn about salt water density. Students worked in groups and were given 4 cups of colored water and salt. They needed to use these materials to layer their salt water into 4 separate layers. They layered them with the most salt at the bottom and worked up the least amount of salt at the top. Through much trial and error many of the students were able to create the 4 different levels. They keep testing their

hypothesis and working together!
