First Day of School!

The first day of school is a wonderfully exciting day. Students have new backpacks, lunch boxes, shoes, pencils, markers, haircuts, etc. Everyone looks so shiny and new. We know they probably haven’t slept a wink and may have even woken up early.

Students arrive in all sorts of conditions. We have the thrilled students who run up to everyone they know to say, “Hi!” There are also the shy ones who’ve forgotten how to speak and end up being the chatterboxes of their classrooms! We also have the students who are only one minute away from breaking down in tears. They bravely hold it together until they realize they’re sitting next to their friend, and they relax.

The teachers know that God is watching over His children and will bless them with new opportunities all year long.  Soon everything falls into place and the class becomes a family who cares for and helps each other grow. I love the first day of school! I am so very blessed to be able to experience this amazing day each year. (I also buy myself a new lunchbox, too!)
