Exploring the Outdoors at the Environmental Nature Center!

Second grade had the opportunity to explore the Environmental Nature Center and become “Eco-observers.”  During their trip, they got to explore the concepts of biodiversity and how all living things need one another to survive, what causes erosion and how it affects the land around us, how seed dispersal and pollination further helps an environment to thrive, and practice their map skills on our hike through the center.  

The Environmental Nature Center provided many engaging activities to engage the students.  One of these activities included making mountains out of sand and watching how water can “erode” it and change it into other landforms.  Lastly, they got to stay active outdoors through not only the hike they took, but also by playing a game to explore the concept of seed dispersal and cross-pollination.
