8th Graders Share their Faith Through Leading Chapel

During the last few weeks, Mrs. Kruse’s homeroom students planned and created two Wednesday Chapel worship services to present to the students of St. John’s.  One service focused on evangelism by using the Wizard of Oz characters to tell the story, while the other focused on finding the one true God, utilizing the characters of Dora the Explorer. 

Every student participated in at least one of the services.  Students took on specific roles --  such as writing prayers, reading Scripture, acting out the message, and leading the pledges, invocation and Apostle’s Creed.  Other students manned the audio visual booth, some sang, played guitar, collected offerings, led the prayers, and gave the benediction. It was a fantastic opportunity for all the students to bond as a class and to build their confidence in sharing their faith with others.  Their excitement and eagerness to work hard, lift each other up, and present God’s message were evident throughout the process. The St. John’s students in attendance throughout the grades were truly blessed and built up in the faith.
