Slimy Scientific Method

In 6^th grade Science, students reviewed the steps in the scientific method. Once we reviewed all the steps, the students were able to put the method into action by creating slime. Each student was asked to write questions about making slime. They then observed what they would be working with to create their hypotheses. Once the hypotheses were created, they were able to get their supplies of glue, activator, and a stir stick. Once they had the supplies, they were able to start working, while I came around with food dye to color their slime. Each group made enough slime that both students were able to split it in half and take it home. 

As they worked through the steps in creating the slime, some groups had to modify their slime. For a few of the groups found their slime to be to sticky and had to add more activator while others had just the right amount of each. As they worked, they finished the steps in the scientific method and at the end they wrote their conclusion. Overall all the students had so much fun creating their slime and got to practice the scientific method.
