Poetry and 7th Graders!

As the 7th graders have been working through our current book, “Poems to See By” by Julian Peters, poetry has become a theme in our learning as both a written and visual expression of life. In combining poetry and National Lutheran Schools Week, the students have spent the last week creating “One-Pagers” that express what they love about St. John’s. 

In the center is a poem that reflects the wonderful opportunities we have at our school, and surrounding the poem are images and bible verses that represent what each individual student values about their experience here. It has been fun for me to see how much our students love our school and the variety of bible verses that are important to them. Here are just a few of their creations!
