Kindergarten Butterfly Release

Mrs. Nelsons kindergarten class recently completed an exciting study of the butterfly life cycle. Students learned about the four stages—egg, caterpillar, chrysalis, and butterfly—and observed live caterpillars in our classroom each day.

Each day, the children eagerly checked on our caterpillars and watched as they grew bigger and eventually formed chrysalises. After several days, beautiful butterflies emerged, and the excitement in the classroom was unforgettable.

Throughout the project, students made observations, asked questions, and recorded the changes they saw. This hands-on experience helped them better understand how living things grow and change.

The highlight of our study was releasing the butterflies into our school garden. Students watched with joy as the butterflies spread their wings and flew off into nature.

This memorable experience sparked curiosity, encouraged scientific thinking, and gave our young learners a deeper appreciation for the wonders of the natural world.
