Jazz Time in 5th Grade

We’re jazzed about jazz music in 5^th grade music class!  Students choose their favorite jazz musician with a March-Madness-style bracket, they learn the history and elements of jazz with interactive activities and videos, and they end the unit by making their own class jazz band for the day.  They use classroom instruments to play chords and percussion and also improvise solos.  What fun!
