5th Grade Tide Pool Adventure: Discovering God’s Creation

Our 5th graders recently enjoyed an unforgettable tide pool field trip filled with exploration, discovery, and hands-on learning along the beautiful coastline. It was a day full of excitement as students stepped outside the classroom and into one of God’s amazing creations — the ocean ecosystem.

As students carefully explored the tide pools, they discovered sea stars, hermit crabs, anemones, mussels, and many other fascinating forms of marine life. Each new discovery sparked curiosity and wonder as students observed how perfectly designed these creatures are to survive in their unique habitats.

Throughout the day, students learned about:

• Tide pool ecosystems and habitats

• Adaptations that help marine animals survive

• The importance of environmental stewardship

• Respecting and caring for God’s creation

One of the most meaningful parts of the trip was seeing students connect their science learning with their faith. As we explored the beauty and complexity of the ocean, we were reminded of Psalm 104:24: “How many are your works, Lord! In wisdom you made them all; the earth is full of your creatures.”

The tide pools served as a wonderful reminder of God’s creativity, detail, and care in every part of His creation — from the smallest shell to the crashing waves along the shore.

A special thank you to our teachers, staff, and parent volunteers who helped make this experience possible. Your support gave students the opportunity to learn, grow, and create lasting memories together.

Field trips like these remind us that some of the best learning happens when we step outside the classroom and experience the wonder of God’s world firsthand.
