5th Grade Stop Motion History Video Project

Fifth graders retold the stories of early European explorers using stop motion video technology. Students worked creatively and collaboratively in groups to share their interpretations of the most significant historical events related to their explorer. To start, they learned how to sift through information and determine the most important facts to include in their scenes and narration. Next, they created characters, sets, and props while learning how to film and move the pieces slowly to ensure their videos came together smoothly. Finally, students shared their completed videos with the class. It was a fun and engaging way to use technology to share information!
